Quartz is an engineered stone material. Quartz countertops contain crushed quartz mixed with resin in a ratio of 93% quartz to 7% resin. Available in a variety of colors, quartz can be an ideal alternative to marble in kitchens. Quartz does not require sealing but is not as heat or scratch resistant as natural stones. The use of hot pads and cutting boards is recommended.
