HOW TO CARE FOR QUARTZITE COUNTERTOPS

After-Care.jpg

If you have quartzite surfaces in your home, you likely spent the extra money to have that natural stone beauty without the extra maintenance needs. Though quartzite is more durable than granite or marble, care should be given in how you use and maintain it.

Here at Carved in Stone, we want to help you keep your beautiful surfaces looking like the day they were installed. Here are a few pointers to help you along:

After Installation

Purchase a natural stone sealing spray and spray generously over the entire surface. Allow it to dry, and you’re ready to use the counter.

Tips for Daily Care

  • Wipe the surface often with a soft cloth

  • Use mild pH-balanced soaps and stone cleaners

  • Allow the stone to dry thoroughly after cleaning

  • Always use hot pad and trivets for extra protection

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners

  • Take extra caution with greasy and acidic liquids

When to Re Seal

Your quartzite countertop should be sealed once every six months to a year.

Yearly Check-Up

Once a year, examine the entire countertop for cracks, scratches, shifting seams, and any other imperfections. If you spot any trouble areas, contact us soon to schedule a repair. These smaller issues can grow into big (expensive) ones if they aren’t cared for in a timely manner.
